Best class to start with. After a whole class warm-up, skaters are grouped according to their ability and work with a coach on their foundation skills.

This class is ideal for skaters of all levels who are already working on a free skate programme, or are planning to. You work in small groups with a coach focusing on preparing for spins and simple jumps

Short track development is the class to hone your ice speed skating skills to compete in short track meets and championships. You learn to race individually and in relay teams.

DISC classes are about participation in ice sports, having fun, and becoming more skilled in your skating foundations, techniques, and ice awareness.
Skaters are required to have DISC membership. Classes are led by NZIFSA-qualified coaches, or experienced coaches affiliated to ISSNZ who also compete themselves.
Development classes are currently charged at a rate of $18 per class by the number of weeks in each block. The number of classes in each block generally ranges from 8-10, depending on what other events are happening at the ice stadium.
